Aricept (Donepezil) Uses
This mediction is used to treat Alzheimer's disease symptoms.
How Aricept (Donepezil) Works
This mediction works by inhibiting an enzyme that breaks down a brain chemical (neurotransmitter) responsible for memory and learning.
How To Take Aricept(Donepezil)
This mediction is taken by mouth. This mediction can be taken with or without food. You should take this mediction regularly at the same time every day just before bedtime. If you develop insomnia, ask your doctor about switching to morning dosing.
Do not stop taking or increase your dose of this mediction without first consulting your doctor.
Aricept (Donepezil) Possible Side Effects
This mediction may cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, tiredness (fatigue), muscle cramps, or appetite loss. If you experience any other side effects, contact your healthcare professional.
Aricept (Donepezil) Warnings and Precautions
Do NOT abruptly stop this mediction without consulting your doctor. This mediction can increase sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity). Wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen until you determine your sensitivity.
This mediction can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Exercise caution with driving or operating machinery. Limit or avoid alcohol use to decrease drowsiness or dizzyness while taking this mediction.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of liver, lung or heart disease, seizures, stomach or intestinal problems or drug allergies.

Storage
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature, away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw out medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

Do not take this mediction during pregnancy because of the possibility of fetal damage. This mediction has been detected in breast milk, so do not take this mediction while breast-feeding.
