This medication used to lower blood pressure, for chest pains, and used in patients after a heart attack. This medication can also be used to prevent migraine headaches. Your doctor may use this medication to treat other conditions as well.

How Inderal-LA (Propranolol-LA) Works

This medication blocks the action of a chemical in your body that can causes narrowing of blood vessels and an increased pumping action of the heart.

How To Take Inderal-LA (Propranolol-LA)

Inderal-LA (Propranolol-LA) is taken by mouth. Dosing is normally once or twice daily with or without food. You should take this medication regularly at the same time(s) every day. Do not stop taking this medication without first consulting your doctor.

Do not break or crush sustained release tablets or capsules.

Possible Inderal-LA Side Effects (Propranolol-LA)

This medication common side effects include mild drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness and weakness. If you experience any other side effects, contact your healthcare professional.

If you miss a dose, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take double doses.

Storage

Keep your prescription in the container it came in, tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature, away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw out medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
