Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Uses
This medication is used for patients who have breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, or breast development in men (gynecomastia).

How Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Works
This medication works by preventing or slowing the growth of cells dependant on estrogen. In order to achieve maximum benefits from this medication, 10mg should be taken orally twice a day or 20mg once daily or as directed by your physician.

How To Take Nolvadex (Tamoxifen)
This medication is taken by mouth, once or twice a day depending on strength prescribed. This medication can be taken with or without food. You should take this medication regularly at the same time every day.

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Possible Side Effects
This medication's common side effects include nausea, flushing, bone pain (this is temporary), vision changes and blood disorders. If you experience any other side effects, contact your healthcare professional.

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Warnings and Precautions
Pre-menopausal women, use a barrier contraceptive because your chance of becoming pregnant is increased while taking this medication.

Use this medication with caution if you have leukopenia (low white blood cell count), or thrombocytopenia (low platelet count). This medication can further lower these blood counts.

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Drug Interactions
This medication may increase the toxic effects of allopurinol, cyclosporin, or warfarin. Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take double doses.

Storage
Keep your prescription in the container it came in, tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature, away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw out medication that is outdated or no longer needed.

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) Pregnancy/Nursing Precautions
This medication is generally considered unsafe if you are pregnant or nursing. Consult your physician prior to either.
