This medication is used to treat chronic asthma.

How Singulair (Montelukast) Works
This medication works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes. Blocking leukotrienes improves asthma symptoms.

How To Take Singulair (Montelukast)
This medication is taken by mouth, once a day. This medication can be taken with or without food. You should take this medication regularly at the same time every day.

Singulair (Montelukast) Possible Side Effects
This medication possible side effects include tiredness, stomach upset, heartburn, dizziness, headache, cough, flu and rash. If you experience any other side effects, contact your healthcare professional.

Singulair (Montelukast) Warnings and Precautions
Do not take this medication to stop an acute asthma attack!

Continue taking your other asthma medicines unless your doctor tells you to stop. Do not lower your dose of any of your asthma medicines unless your doctor tells you to do so.

Singulair (Montelukast) Drug Interactions
Continue to avoid aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen and naproxen, if your asthma is made worse by aspirin. Before taking any new prescription or non-prescription drug, discuss possible drug interactions with your doctor or pharmacist.

Missed Dose

Storage
